Getting around

FREE public transport for TNC19 delegates

From 16 to 21 June, Tallinn City Council will provide FREE public transport to TNC19 delegates. All conference participants will be able to hop on and off buses, trams and trolley-buses, by Tallinna Linnatranspordi AS, when moving around the city. Please, note that you will be able to take advantage of this kind offer ONLY when showing/wearing your conference badge, so we recommend that you ALWAYS carry the badge with you when you are out and about in Tallinn.

You will first need to collect your badge at TNC19 main venue, in order to make use of the free public transportation.

How to reach the Kultuurikatel by public transport

The Kultuurikatel, Tallinn Creative Hub, is situated within walking distance of Tallinn Old Town. For longer distances we recommend public transport (trams, trolley-buses and buses), which is very reliable and clean. To find out more about transport schedules and routes, click here. For more information about fares, click here.

By tram

no. 1 (Kopli–Kadriorg) and 2 (Kopli–Suur-Paala), getting off at the Linnahall stop

By bus

no. 3 (Veerenni–Randla), 21 (Balti jaam–Landi), 21B (Balti jaam–Kakumäe), 41 (Balti jaam–Landi), 41B (Balti jaam–Kakumäe) and 73 (Veerenni–Tööstuse).

Bolt taxi app

We advise you to download the Bolt taxi app (bolt.eu), an Estonian start-up (used also outside Estonia), much cheaper and more effective than Uber, or regular taxi.  Usually a Bolt ride inside the city costs around €3-6.

Coming from Tallinn Lennart Meri Airport

By bus

Bus no. 2 makes the trip from the airport to the city centre and port approximately every 20 minutes and operates from 6:30 am until midnight. The bus departs from the airport’s lowest level, down the escalator from the arrivals hall. The most central stop is Laikmaa stop on Laikmaa Street, between the Tallink City Hotel and the Viru Centre shopping mall, attached to the Sokos Hotel Viru. If you are going to the city centre, this is the stop where to get off. You can continue the journey to the port, the bus also stops at the Terminal A, from which it is 7 minutes’ walk straight along Sadama Street to reach the Creative Hub.

By tram

Tram no. 4 leaves from the same place as the bus at the airport – the lowest level. It takes you to the city centre when you get off at the stop Hobujaama (on the same street as the Laikmaa bus stop) or you can continue your journey when you want to reach Liberty Square, which is closer to some hotels. In order to reach the Creative Hub from Hobujaama, you could walk to the Creative Hub which is 850 meters or 11 minutes’ walk or alternatively, you could take trams no. 1 or 2 from the same Hobujaama stop to Linnahall. The Creative Hub is across the street from that tram stop.
